Daily Motivation - April 15, 2008
One day, there was a 15-years-old beggar boy knocked at door of a rich woman’s house. Then the woman opened the door to find out who was that. After opening the door, the boy told and asked her for some money because he had not eaten for several days. He was so hungry and did not have any money. And the woman would give him some money with one condition. There were many bricks in front of her house. He had to move them from left to the right side of the house. It was not easy thing to do because the house was so large and it would take some time and energy to finish that. But, the boy wanted to do that because there was no way to get some money. He then brought some bricks and began to move them. He was quite exhausted doing the job. And after 15 minutes, he finally finished moving the bricks. And the woman gave him money to buy something to eat.
Several days later, the young boy returned to the woman’s house for some money. And as usual, the woman told him to move the bricks from one side to another side of the house. The boy did not understand why she told him to do this job. He thought that it was not useful doing it. However, he did the job to earn money for food. Then he got money for what he had done. This happened continuously for about 1 year. After that, the boy no longer returned to the house.
10 years later, there was a man in very nice clothing who was driving luxurious and elegant car to the woman’s house. Then he knocked at the door. And after moments, the woman opened the door and surprised because she recognized that the man was the young beggar boy 10 years ago. He was so different, he had been successful. Then the man gave her a blank cheque and said, “I become what I am today because of you. You had taught me that there was no free meal. You taught me that if I want to earn money, I must work for it, not doing nothing and asking someone to give me money. Today, I come here to thank you for your lesson. If I did not meet you 10 years ago, perhaps I will never be successful today. Please fill in the cheque with whatever numbers of money you want. And if you need some help, I will give my help for you.” And then he gave her his contact number and then went out.
Message for readers:
One thing you can learn from the story above is that you must work hard to achieve success. There is no success that is achieved by doing nothing. Success belongs to those who want to take action and work hard to achieve it. You cannot just hope that you will achieve success, but in the other side you do not take action to make it comes true. It is impossible. No action, nothing happens. You must work harder for success, you must fight for it, because success is your right.
Many people do not achieve anything they want simply because they do not take action. They just hope and wish for success. They do not want to take their action. They let their success deeply buried.
