Daily Motivation - October 24, 2008

Once upon a time, there lived a woman who had married and become a housewife. She handled and done the house work. She had three little children from her marriage. Her beloved husband worked in a place far outside that made him went home back only once a week. So, all the work in the house was done by his wife.

However, this woman had great complaint about her children’s mischievous behavior that made her depressed. Her three children often made incredibly noisy sound, quarreled, messed the home up and they didn’t obey their mother’s words. This happened continuously almost every single day. No day without peace. This stressed the woman out, added with plenty of house work to do that made her felt like crazy.

She then visited a wise man to ask for some advice for her problem. The wise man was famous because of her capability to solve any problems well. The wise man looked at her frowned face and asked, “What can I do for you? I see you have heavy burden. Tell me!” Then the woman sighed and told all her problems about her naughty children. She told him how she was so tired of that condition and asked for some advice to get out of it.

The wise man smiled, showing his small laughter and said, “After listening to what you have told me, I think you should be grateful for this.” The woman was surprisingly confused and replied, “Grateful? What should I grateful for? Everyday I keep my wrath and I am so stressed with it.”

The man tried to elaborate it and said, “Ok. I want you to see this from different point of view. I want you to see it in a positive way. If you think your problem comes from your children, it means your house is more colorful because of their existence, weep and laughter. Because of them, your family becomes perfect. Now, imagine what it can be if you do not have any children. Your house and your life will be quiet and deadly silent. You will feel lonely and you will also be boring. Isn’t it expectation of all parents to have children? Look at ones who have no child, how they feel, how they pray for a child, how they miss so much the laughter and weep of a baby, how they live in loneliness. Even, there is a husband divorces his wife just because of not able to bear a child. You should be grateful to God for what you have today. You should be happy because your children make your life more colorful.”

Suddenly, the woman smiled widely. She understood what the man had told her. Since, she was happier and grateful for his enlightenment.
